On 3 December 2019 and for the first time ever, nearly all European Ambassadors to the United States went on a joint trip outside of the Beltway to showcase EU unity and celebrate the close political, economic, and cultural ties between the European Union and the State of Maryland. The EU-Maryland trade and investment relationship generates 120 thousands jobs in the State of Maryland.
The full-day trip brought them to 10 different locations across the State, from the Maryland State House in Annapolis to the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore.
The day started with a plenary session with Governor Larry Hogan, who also serves as the Chair of the National Governors Association, and ended with a large celebration of EU-Maryland relations with State leaders and European diasporas living in Baltimore.
