Kids Euro Festival

Kids Euro Festival returns to the Washington, D.C., metro area with a new line-up of some of Europe’s most talented children’s entertainers. This unique festival, running October 20 – November 4, offers free family-friendly performances, concerts, movies, workshops and much more for children ages 2 to 12.

"Over more than 80 fun kids' activities will be presented by the Member States of the European Union, together with more than 20 local and national cultural institutions," explained European Union Ambassador to the United States David O’Sullivan. "This will be the 11th year of the Kids Euro Festival and it gives us so much joy to see all these kids being wowed and entertained by our fantastic European performers."

Highlights this year include the 60th anniversary celebration of the Smurfs presented by Belgium; 'United in Music,' a performance at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage by a Latvian youth choir composed of both students with and without hearing impairments; a performance of 'Angelina, a contemporary Cinderella,' featuring Italian opera singers at the Shakespeare Theatre, to name just a few. And KEEN Day on October 20 features a full day of events for children with disabilities.

With high-quality programs both for the general public and for school groups, more than 10,000 DC-area children and their families enjoy Kids Euro Festival each year. All events are free, but most require reservations.

The festival is made possible by the EU Delegation to the United States in cooperation with the DC Arts & Humanities Education Collaborative, DC Public Schools and DC Public Libraries, Washington Performing Arts, and the European-American Cultural Foundation.
