Enhancing civil society's capacity to act as a watchdog of the extractive industries to ensure they adhere to high levels of accountability, transparency and compliance to local and international environmental best practices, standards and regulations and to independently verify the industry's reported environmental data

EU Contribution: €428,000

Description:    The action will enhance civil society's capacity to act as a watchdog of the extractive industries to ensure they adhere to high levels of accountability, transparency and compliance to local and international environmental best practices, standards and regulations and to independently verify the industry's reported environmental data.

The project will be implemented by The Cropper Foundation, in collaboration with  Environment Tobago, Fishermen and Friends of the Sea, Network of Rural Women Producers and the Oilfield Workers' Trade Union

Duration: 36 months (Jan 2018 - Nov 2020)

Location:  Project funded under the 11th EDF National Indicative Programme – Support to CSOs and managed by the EU Delegation, Trinidad and Tobago.
