Villa Europa, the new EU Embassy in Rome, opens its doors!

On 23 January, Ambassador Martin Selmayr and his Team welcomed for the first time, the EU Ambassadors/Permanent Representatives to the UN in Rome, to a strategic Retreat at Villa Europa, the new EU Embassy in Rome. The retreat discussed the EU priorities in the multilateral work at FAO, WFP and IFAD, the international dimension of the forthcoming EU Vision for Agriculture and the best ways to make FAO fit for purpose.

The Independent Chairman of the FAO Council, Hans Hogeveen joined for the working lunch where he shared his thoughts.

The Retreat resulted in a successful meeting with the active participation of the Ambassadors/ Permanent Representatives.
