A very good & constructive meeting was held on 21 March at FAO in Rome between Jessika Roswall, our new EU Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience & a competitive Circular Economy, and the FAO DG Dr Qu. The fight against hunger in the world and the multilateral work on sustainable agrifood systems, water resilience, and the bioeconomy are priorities for the EU. The European Union is and will remain a predictable, reliable, and credible partner of the United Nations. 

It was an honour and a pleasure to welcome today Jessika Roswall, at Villa Europa, the new office of the EUDEL in Rome. We briefed her about the work of Team Europe at the UN Organizations based in Rome (FAO, IFAD, WFP), notably about the ongoing work on forestry, the bioeconomy, water and pollinators.
