The European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture, and Sport, Glenn Micallef, accompanied by Ambassador Martin Selmayr, met today the FAO Director-General, Dr QU Dongyu.

Commissioner Micallef also met young FAO employees from all continents to discuss the particular challenges for young farmers. Also the need to address child labour in farming was raised. A very good opportunity for a constructive dialogue about the future of sustainable and fair agrifood systems and for further deepening EU-FAO relations.
