Ambassador Martin Selmayr meets Ban Ki-Moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations

During FAO’s World Food Forum in Rome, Ambassador Martin Selmayr had the opportunity to exchange views with Ban Ki-Moon, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations. He underlined to me the importance of continued EU leadership in the rules-based international system, notably on climate change and sustainable development. 

Ambassador Selmayr assured Ban Ki-Moon that the EU is and remains a reliable partner of the UN. The EU is engaging with partners in driving forward UN reform through the UN Secretary General’s 'UN80 initiative', including at the Rome-based UN agencies.
