On March 15, in FAO, our Head of Delegation Ambassador Jan Tombiński, intervened at the presentation of the outcomes of the survey on sexual harassment in the Informal Seminar for Permanent Representatives at the presence of FAO Director General José Graziano da Silva.
Reacting about the low level of participation to the survey by the staff and the range of statistics presented by the hierarchy of FAO, Ambassador Tombiński declared: "It is important to increase trust and reduce the comfort zone for negative behaviours". He stresses the fact that with this kind of survey it is normal to receive a limited number of responses, people do not want to report. The Ambassador suggested to create a cross RBAs panel to avoid that people dodge internal enquiries and it would increase confidence which would become an important tool to reduce the comfort zone of aggressors.
"Sexual harassment is not about statistics, it is about people" concluded Ambassador Jan Tombiński.
