Info session

After last week launch of a call for proposals to enhance cooperation and dialogue with the civil society organisations, the EU Delegation to Yemen organised a virtual info session for interested applicants. More than 120 representatives of civil society and human rights organisations joined and actively participated in the session.

Through this call for proposals, the EU aims to enable civil society actors to play a more active role and contribute to  peace building, reconstruction and local development. The EU also supports activists and human rights defenders to promote and defend critical human rights and democracy issues in the country.

“Being close to the population, Yemeni civil society organisations are the best placed to assess and respond to the needs of all Yemenis. Despite the security, accessibility and funding challenges, civil society organisations have been quite successful in delivering to beneficiaries and vulnerable groups of the population. The European Union will continue to support their crucial work,” said Hans Grundberg, Ambassador of the European Union to Yemen.

The call for proposals is one way for the EU to continue enhancing cooperation and dialogue with civil society organisations and promoting the respect of human rights in Yemen.

The overall amount available for this call for proposals is EUR 2,700,000.

Interested civil society and human rights organisations are invited to consult the link below and carefully follow the guidelines for applicants. The call is open until 31 March 2021.
