Despite the remote format for most of the participants, organizers of the event tried to make the EU Study Week as close as possible to in-person format, filling it not only with interesting lectures and expert discussions, but also with interaction.

First session of the summer EU Study Week, dedicated to the relations between the EU and Russia, was chaired by the Ambassador of the European Union to Russia Markus Ederer. Jolita Pons, Head of the EU Delegation Political section, introduced participants of EU Study Week to the decision-making process in the European Union. German Presidency of the Council was discussed at a session with Stefan Kordash, Deputy Head of the Political section of the German Embassy in Russia. Several experts from Lithuania also took part in the EU Study Week.

The highlight of the EU Study Week was a heated discussion about how Europe is coping with the economic crisis. Several sessions were devoted to the possibilities of studying in Europe and its components, as well as overcoming intercultural barriers during training, internship and traveling in Europe.

Like any EU Study Week, the summer event was full of interactive elements. Despite thousands kilometers that separated the participants, interactive sessions, role plays, quizzes and group homework gave participants an opportunity to get closer, find common ground, refine existing skills or acquire new ones.

One of the participants, Sofia Shestakova from Kemerovo, said that the event was “an incredible synthesis of the most useful information and a warm spiritual atmosphere”.
