Rewarding excellence in civil society initiatives
financed by the European Union in the Republic of Moldova
Launch of call for nomination for the second edition of the CSO Gala
The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova (EU Delegation) launches the second edition of the European Civil Society Awards Gala (CSO Gala). The EU Delegation rewards tangible results of EU funded initiatives by civil society organisations at national, regional and local levels that made a lasting and positive impact on the Republic of Moldova’s democracy, economic development and social cohesion and promoted European values.
"The Eastern Partnership celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year. Over the past decade, the collective efforts of the European Union, its Member States and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine have brought considerable benefits to the citizens including more trade, mobility, increased economic development and better quality of life." Therefore the second edition of the CSO Gala will be organised under the auspices of the 10-year anniversary of the Eastern Partnership.
Support to the Civil Society is a key element of the European Neighbourhood Policy with a view to strengthen and promote its role in reforms and democratic changes taking place and its capacity to engage with public authorities of the Republic of Moldova.
Through the civil society awards, the EU Delegation, as the organiser of the event, seeks to reward the projects and CSO teams that demonstrated innovative approaches to challenging themes or issues, managed to generate significant concrete results and sustainable beneficial impact at local or national level from the projects financed.
All CSOs that received support through the various EU initiatives and programmes, directly or indirectly (through support to third parties) are invited to sign up or be nominated for the awards competition.
The 2019 edition of the CSO Gala will reward projects, financed by the European Union directly or indirectly through subgrants.
