In presence of businessmen, investors and chambers of commerce from the state of Jalisco, Ambassador Klaus Rudischhasuser highlighted that, in less than two years, the European Union and Mexico reached an agreement that adapts to the economic and political challenges of this century. He added that the new Agreement opens a new chapter in the bilateral relationship, promoting political dialogue, cooperation, trade and job creation.
The Head of the Economic and Trade Section, Paolo Caridi, mentioned some details of the economic part, such as the elimination of tariffs on agricultural products, public procurement, and the inclusion of an anti-corruption chapter.
Ambassador Rudischhauser emphasized that the EU is the third trade partner of Mexico and the second largest investor in the country. He stressed that the modernization of the Global Agreement will offer new incentives for companies to invest and do business on both sides, as well as develop more cohesive and sustainable societies.
