Shaping Peace Together: Speed-Networking on Careers in Multilateral Cooperation

EU Ambassador Deike Potzel participated in a dynamic Speed Networking-event organized by the Peacebuilding Initiative (PBI) of the Geneva Graduate Institute. The event brought together students and young professionals eager to explore careers in peacebuilding and international cooperation with professionals and practitioners in the field.

Welcoming the opportunity to engage with motivated young individuals and to support initiatives that encourage the next generation to contribute meaningfully to peacebuilding efforts globally, Ambassador Potzel highlighted the European Union’s commitment to conflict prevention, mediation, and sustaining peace, as well as the diverse career paths available within EU institutions and partner organizations. The panel discussion further featured Sahar Ammar, Program Officer with Swisspeace's Dealing with the Past team, Elio Azar, Special Initiatives Manager at the Principles for Peace Foundation and Jessica Caus, Associate Project Coordinator at UNIDIR: Managing Exits from Armed Conflict, who all shared insights into their professional journeys and reflected on the challenges and opportunities within the peacebuilding sector.
