Diplomats for Equality: Geneva Pride 2025

On 7 June 2025, despite cloudy skies and occasional rain, representatives from over 30 Permanent Missions, including the EU Delegation, marched with pride and purpose through the streets of Geneva as part of Geneva Pride 2025. United under the banner "Diplomats for Equality," the group expressed their ongoing support for diversity, inclusion, and the rights of LGBTIQ+ communities.
Starting from Quai du Mont-Blanc, mission staff and their families joined thousands of participants in what was both a celebration and a moment of solidarity. The diplomatic group moved through the crowd side by side, waving flags and holding signs promoting dignity, respect, and equal treatment for all.
By joining Geneva Pride, the participating Missions underlined that equality and inclusion are values to be upheld both locally and internationally—and that diplomacy has a role to play in advancing these goals.
As Geneva Pride 2025 drew to a close, the presence of the Diplomats for Equality offered a meaningful reminder that solidarity can transcend borders. The EU Delegation thanks all participating Permanent Missions and their representatives for joining this initiative and looks forward to continuing the shared commitment to inclusion, visibility, and equal rights for LGBTIQ+ communities.
Every person deserves to live free, equal, and with dignity. Human rights are for all of us — whoever we are, wherever we live, whomever we love.
