Monday, June 15, was an eventful day for Ukraine, with a bittersweet aftertaste. First, there was a massive nighttime attack by Russia—with dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones, damage to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra cathedral, and dozens of dead and wounded.

But in the evening, wonderful news arrived: all European Union countries agreed to open the first cluster of negotiations on Ukraine and Moldova’s accession to the bloc.
