“On the Road to Integration: Government–Business Dialogue for Ukraine’s EU Accession” conference
CdA Gediminas Navickas took part in a high-level dialogue alongside Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka and Ambassador of Sweden H.E. Martin Åberg, moderated by Nataliia Shapoval, President of the KSE Institute.
The panel opened the conference “On the Road to Integration: Government–Business Dialogue for Ukraine’s EU Accession”, organized by the Kyiv School of Economics.
In his remarks, Mr. Navickas underlined Ukraine’s remarkable progress on its EU path: “Completing all bilateral screening meetings with the European Commission in just over a year is an unprecedented achievement. Now the key task is to keep the pace and the momentum”
He underlined that this discuss ion was particularly timely following the entry into force yesterday of the revised EU–Ukraine Free Trade Agreement, which strengthens long-term and predictable trade relations.
“Ukraine is not starting from scratch — the DCFTA has already laid a strong foundation. Now, we must keep up the pace, both in Ukraine and in the EU, to ensure continued success on the accession path.”
He also stressed that integration is a whole-of-society effort: “The next phase will require broad ownership — from government and parliament to civil society and, crucially, Ukraine’s business community. Only with everyone on board can Ukraine’s European future become a shared success.”
