At the Foreign Affairs Council, we have sent a clear signal of our collective support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in front of Russia’s military deployment and its continued negative actions and provocations.

18/04/2021 – HR/VP Blog – The Covid-19 crisis continues to change the global balance of power. The new IMF economic forecast shows that the recovery is underway even if uncertainties remain. However, the gap between emerging and developing countries and the advanced economies plus China is worrying. The EU is also at serious risk of falling behind the US and China if it does not develop active policies to prevent this.

The Delegation of the European Union to Uganda, the EU Member States present in Uganda and Norway have the pleasure to announce the three people shortlisted for the EU Human Rights Defenders Award 2021.

11.4.2021 – HR/VP Blog – Die Welt blickt mit Entsetzen auf den blutigen Militärputsch in Myanmar, bei dem Berichten zufolge am letzten Freitag in Bago mehr als 80 Menschen getötet wurden. Wir verfolgen einen entschlossenen diplomatischen Ansatz in enger Abstimmung mit gleich gesinnten Partnern. Der geopolitische Wettbewerb in Myanmar macht es jedoch schwierig, eine gemeinsame Grundlage zu finden, der Gewalt Einhalt zu gebieten und eine Rückkehr zur Demokratie zu gewährleisten.

È in corso una nostra forte iniziativa diplomatica in stretto coordinamento con i partner che condividono i nostri principi, ma il clima di contesa geopolitica nel Myanmar rende difficile trovare un terreno comune, fermare le violenze e garantire il ritorno alla democrazia.

Estamos atualmente a lançar uma forte iniciativa diplomática, em estreita coordenação com parceiros que partilham os nossos valores. Contudo, a concorrência geopolítica em Mianmar torna difícil encontrar um plano de entendimento comum, travar a violência e assegurar o regresso à democracia.
