From July 23rd to 26th, 2020, six European Union (EU) Heads of Mission (HoMs) in Uganda visited Kanungu, Kasese and Fort Portal in the western part of the country, a major tourist hub, to assess the impact of Covid-19, among other critical challenges affecting the tourism sector in Uganda.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) took delivery of the 12-room facility at the official opening ceremony led by the Minister of Tourism Hon. Tom Butime and EU Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Attilio Pacifici.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had mixed impacts on conservation and the environment in Uganda, as everywhere in the world. Some of the positive signs have included wildlife returning to places they used to live, feed, or nest in. Air pollution and carbon dioxide emissions have also fallen rapidly,
