Bilateral relations between the European Union and Turkmenistan are governed by an Interim Agreement on trade and trade-related matters, which entered into force in August 2010, pending ratification of a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) by the European Parliament.
The third High Level Political and Security Dialogue between the European Union and Central Asian countries (Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan) took place today in Brussels. As per the previous dialogue held last year in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was invited to participate.
The Blue Book Traineeship scheme offers a paid internship of 5 months with the European Commission or some executive bodies of the European Institutions like the European External Action Service, starting on either 1st March or 1st October.
Federica Mogherini, the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, was today in Astana, Kazakhstan where she chaired the 11th EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting. Ministers and Deputy Ministers from the five Central Asian Republics, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also participated in the meeting.
The 2nd High Level Security Dialogue between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) took place today, hosted by Tajikistan. Afghanistan was invited as a special guest to the Dialogue.
