We are celebrating the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, raising awareness for an issue many times invisible, but still present in our societies. The EU has been working on the prevention and fight against human trafficking through its actions on the ground and through the collaboration at local and international levels.

As the world grapples with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and starts to gradually prepare for dealing with its longer-term impacts, governments and societies should take moment to reflect on what we can learn from this crisis and use these lessons to build a better future. With more than half of the global population locked-down, the first lesson learned is the deep interdependency between our countries and regions and the high exposure that we all have to unanticipated external shocks.

The European Union launched on 15 July 2020 a comprehensive EUR 3 million Central Asia COVID-19 Crisis Response (CACCR) solidarity package, addressing the needs of 3 Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Turkmenistan.

As the world’s largest regional security organisation, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is a cornerstone of the multilateral rules-based order and the European security architecture. The effective functioning of the OSCE is central to ensuring that our European continent develops into a pillar for peace, prosperity and justice for the rest of the world.

À l'occasion de la Journée mondiale des compétences des jeunes, l'UE reconnaît qu'il importe de renforcer les compétences des jeunes afin de bâtir un avenir plus prospère pour tous.
