Discovering the World of Flow: A Story of Creativity, Animation and European Cinema in Turkmenistan
On 17 May, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan, together with the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkmenistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Uzbekistan, brought the story beyond the screen through two special events that offered audiences a closer look at the creativity behind the acclaimed film.
The journey began at Art Nokady, Arkach Shopping Centre, with the masterclass “A Glimpse into Flow.” Led by members of the film’s creative team, Konstantins Visnevskis and Kristina Rezviha, the session opened a window into the artistic and technical world behind the internationally celebrated animation.
Participants stepped behind the scenes to discover the creative process that shaped Flow — from 3D animation tools and production techniques to the story of a small independent team whose passion and vision led them to international recognition. More than a technical discussion, the masterclass became a conversation about creativity, innovation and the power of storytelling through animation.

The experience then continued at Arkach Cinema, where audiences gathered for a special screening of Flow. For many guests, it was an opportunity not only to watch an award-winning film, but also to see it with a new perspective after discovering the ideas and work behind its creation. With its distinctive visual language, emotional depth and unique storytelling style, Flow offered viewers an immersive cinematic experience that resonated far beyond the screen.
Together, the two events demonstrated how cinema can become more than a film screening – it can create dialogue, spark curiosity and bring people together through shared stories and creativity. Through Flow, audiences in Ashgabat experienced not only contemporary European animation, but also the magic of seeing how imagination turns into art.
