A thrilling debate by accounting students on the relevance of 'Accounting Standards for the Growth in Malawi' took place on 13 March in Blantyre jointly organised by the Institute for Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) and the European Union.

It was a heated discussion, where good arguments were advanced from both teams. And even though in a debate there is no real winner, the judges were able to determine, the more persuasive, assertive and convincing team.

We congratulate the accounting students of PACT College for their outstanding performance. They will now advance to the semi-finals in Lilongwe on 02 April 2019. We wish them good luck!

This is the first of a series of 4 regional debates, where two teams will battle for arguments regarding challenges facing their profession. The winning team of each region will qualify for the semi-finals and from the semi-finals two teams will qualify for the finals to be held on 03 May 2019 in Lilongwe.
