Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Trinidad and Tobago?


What we offer?

Two traineeships of 3 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago. The first traineeship will start on 1 June 2019 and the second traineeship on 1 October 2019.

Main tasks:

  • Contribution to political, economic and trade reporting
  • Compiling statistical data related to specific political subjects the Delegation is exploring.
  • Conducting research on topics of interest in the fields of foreign affairs, domestic political affairs, human rights as well as press and information
  • Contribution to the work of the Political Section of the Delegation
  • Contribution to the visibility activities of the Delegation
  • Taking minutes of meetings as required
  • Attending and reporting on public events, seminars, conferences S Contribution to content for Delegation's website and social media accounts
  • Administrative support to events and visits organized by the Delegation



  • Holder of a Bachelor university degree or equivalent in political science, economics, or related field
  • Proven interest in EU affairs, international relations, or economic affairs;
  • Proven networking and writing skills;
  • Capacity to work in team as well as independently, with attention to details;
  • A very good command of spoken and written English;
  • Very good analytical skills;
  • Very good command of Word, Powerpoint, Excel;

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
