March 3, 2020: The EUTT Delegation was pleased to welcome a contingent from the University of the West Indies Institute of International Relations. The students, who are studying at the Diploma and Masters levels learning about global politics, economics, trade and regional integration, were informed by Ambassador Biesebroek about all things EU – and in particular the work of the Delegation here in Trinidad and Tobago.
The thoroughly engaged and animated group asked a number of insightful questions, covering a number of key issues such as Brexit, EU membership, EU cooperation and trade with Trinidad and Tobago and human rights. Colleagues from the Press and Information, Cooperation and Political sections were also on hand to ensure that the students were given a comprehensive overview.
The group was accompanied by Dr Jacqueline Laguardia Martinez, Lecturer, who conveyed on behalf of the students their deep appreciation for the visit and for the valuable information imparted.
The Delegation certainly hopes that today's meeting was beneficial to the students and we wish them every success as they continue their studies!
