Vocational Training to prepare Refugees for Return

03/07/2017 - 10:15
Migration and Border Management

The project aims to provide Myanmar refugees with vocational training, life skills and income generation activities that align with livelihood opportunities inside Myanmar.

The Vocational Education and Training gives refugees valuable vocational skills – often in job-skill areas where they had no previous competency. Moreover, for people who have lived in the camps for some time, the camp environment is the culture and the practices that they know. Hence this program is important in preparing people for a different kind of life. It helps them prepare for ‘work-readiness’ and the practice of attending training regularly, taking directions from supervisors and achieving targets and goals – all are valuable ‘habits’ that will assist them in the future
