Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) of the EU-Thailand FTA-Stakeholder Workshop

30.04.2026

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade (DG Trade) has commissioned an independently conducted Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) of the EU-Thailand Free Trade Agreement. It will be conducted by an independent consulting consortium of Milieu Consulting, the London School of Economics Consulting, Tutwa Europe, and the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI).

More information about the SIA in support of the EU-Thailand FTA negotiations is available on https://euthailandsia.org/

In the course of the study, an independently run stakeholder workshop will be held on 19 May in Bangkok at Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel

The workshop will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, including civil society organisations, businesses, social partners, and international organisations. It will provide a space for participants to speak openly and contribute directly to the SIA process. Stakeholder views shared during the workshop will feed directly into the SIA and, by extension, into the FTA negotiations. The programme will combine plenary discussions with smaller thematic breakout sessions to ensure that all participants have the opportunity to express their views.

The workshop will be conducted in both English and Thai, with simultaneous interpretation provided throughout. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
