Donor:EU The EU contribution:3, 700,000 EUR Duration:from March 2014 until 2016  Implementing institution:Hulla & Co Human Dynamics KG, Vienna, Austria Local institutions involved:Ministry of Health, National Centre for Social Adaptation of Children, MoPE, MLSP, universities, schools  Expected locations:Tashkent city, Tashkent region and Khorezm, Samark and, Namangan and Surkhandar'ya regions.  Objectives:Overall objective: is to contribute to the social inclusion in UzbekistanSpecific objective: is to improve the quality of education for children with special needs age 2–10 and promote their integration in mainstream kindergartens and primary schools. Expected results:

  1. Long term strategy, including legal and financial frameworks of the government is formulated to ensure equal and inclusive approachs for children with special needs;
  2. Pre-service and in-service teacher training and non-teacher staff training modules on inclusive education are updated and integrated in curricula and training programs;
  3. Public awareness is raised in the country to promote the integration of children and people with special needs, both at social and education level.
