The Delegation of European Union to Thailand is recruiting 2 temporary agents for the Cooperation Section for a duration of 6 months starting tentatively in April 2020. The 2 temporary agents will be tasked with supporting the implementation of the European Union development programmes in Thailand.

We are

The European Union (EU) is a political union composed of 27 European countries. It plays an important global role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development co-operation and working with international partners and organisations.  Abroad, the EU is represented by 142 diplomatic missions, known as EU Delegations, which effectively serve as EU embassies.

We offer

We offer 2 positions as temporary agents for a duration of 6 months tentatively from April 2020. The successful candidates will assist the Head of the Cooperation Section in the planning, implementation and monitoring of EU development cooperation in Thailand.

Functions and duties:

  • Support the management, monitoring and supervision of projects in the field of connectivity, social protection, inequalities, digitalisation, private sector development, trade, migration, fisheries, employment and agriculture a.o.
  • Contribution to programming and planning of EU support to Thailand and the region.
  • Contribution to visibility and communication efforts of the EU Delegation to Thailand.

Working environment:        

  • Within Delegation of the European Union, the Cooperation Section is composed of 14 staff working in close cooperation with the Finance and Contract section to ensure sound implementation of EU supported initiatives.
  • Presence is required at the Delegation Office from 9.30 to 17.30. Monday to Friday

Group:  Local Agent Group 1.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in development cooperation in the fields identified under ‘Functions and Duties’
  • Experience with implementation and supervision of Civil Society organisation initiative is an asset.
  • Experience with EU Project/programme management rules and regulation is an asset.

The procedure

After the deadline, the applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee set up for this purpose. The Selection Committee will shortlist candidates who are considered to be the most suitable for the post on the basis of a preliminary assessment of the information provided in their application letter and the supporting documents. The short-listed candidates will be invited to participate in a written assessment and, if successful, to a final interview.
