The €150 million project was jointly financed by the European Union, France, European Investment Bank and the Government of Tanzania. The project involved the extension and upgrading of the water supply and sanitation systems and safe hygiene practices in the city of Mwanza and the satellite towns of Misungwi, Magu, Lamadi, Bukoba and Musoma.
