The People's Matrix Association is a local organisation that advocates for the rights of Lesotho's LGBTIQ populations.  It organises annual marches to commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) and this year the march was held in Mafeteng on 18 May 2019. The EU was in attendance. The march has become a key event for Lesotho’s LGBTIQ community. The theme of this year's march was access to justice, a drive to ensure that LGBTIQ populations are not denied justice when they seek it.

Under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), the European Union in Lesotho has worked together with the Lesotho chapter of Women and Law Southern Africa and The People's Matrix Association in a gender equality project called Real Talk Real Action. The project aims to prevent and eventually eliminate early marriages, the discrimination of girl children in matters related to Inheritance and violence against LGBTIQ Persons in the country. The People's Matrix is an associate of the EU-supported project.
