On 27 August, the fourth edition of the EuroSchool started in Guba, Azerbaijan. In total, 15 young motivated people from all over the country were selected to take part in the EuroSchool, supported by the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan and the EU Neighbours East communication project.

The three-day event opened by Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas, Head of EU Delegation, aimed to further raise awareness among the country’s youth about the EU and its partnership with Azerbaijan.

The participants will engage in a number of interactive sessions to learn more about the EU, its history, fundamental principles and values, issues relating to energy and the environment, European Neighbourhood Policy, the Eastern Partnership initiative, and EU-Azerbaijan relations. They will also hear about education and other opportunities available for young people in Europe. Within the framework of their social programme the participants will visit mountaneous Khinalig village.

The event is the fourth EU-focused summer school organised in Azerbaijan. It is supported in the framework of the ‘Young European Neighbours’ network, an EU initiative launched in 2016 covering the EU Member States and six Eastern Neighbourhood countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
