Steering Committee reviews the success of civil society in project management

The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia - Tajikistan (EFCA - Tajikistan) in the framework of the project «Activating the Potential of CSOs as Actors and Partners in the Governance, Accountability and Implementation of Rural Development Projects» funded by the EU, will hold a steering committee meeting.

Within the framework of the project, trainings were conducted for 54 public organizations in Sughd, Khatlon regions and DRS. Representatives of CSOs, represented by managers and financial managers, were trained in amendments to legislation, on the activities of CSOs, including legislation on the functions of CSOs and their financial situation. The second day of training allowed financial managers to cover fundraising and budgeting, as well as procedural requirements for the grant competition. Finally, the last day was aimed at writing proposals, discussing the design of the project and how to meet the requirements of local and international donors. Testing was conducted before and after training courses, the results of which show that the level of knowledge of public organizations has risen substantially.

Within the meeting it will be discussed the results achieved in the first year of the project, transparency, development and promotion of rural development projects, promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the state and civil society organizations, as well as an action plan for 2019, and a final assessment of the work done.

The participants of the meeting are: Zulfiya Davlyatbekova - Program Manager from the European Union Delegation in the Republic of Tajikistan, Azimzhon Sayfiddinov - Director of EFCA - Tajikistan, representatives from the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, State Committee for Local Development under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, DVV International, Caritas Germany , Blacksmith International, WHH Germany, AKF Tajikistan, and USAID Mission in RT.

The EFCA – Tajikistan’s Director Azimzhon Sayfiddinov, Zulfiya Davlyatbekova, Program Manager from the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of Tajikistan, will make a welcoming speech. A presentation on the work done and future plans will be delivered by Ilkhom Makhkambaev, program director of EFCA - Tajikistan.
