The Delegation of the European Union in Khartoum, Sudan announces the vacant position for a Finance & Contracts Assistant (Local Agent – Cat. II) to strengthen the Finance & Contracts Section.


Job description

Financial initiation of transactions such as commitments, de-commitments, payments and recovery orders, Verification of financial transactions with regard to Community rules following principles of good financial and budgetary management, Follow-up and processing call for proposals and call for tenders according to Community rules following principles of good financial and budgetary management, Verification of legal and contractual aspects of contracts and grants.


Job profile

Educational background should be at least Diploma  in Accounting or any other related field.

Minimum of 3 years experience in finance and accounting. Good knowledge of audit rules and procedures, budgetary rules and procedures, contracts management, Financial and budgetary management. Under this job function the successful candidate will serve as technical and support staff to the Finance, Contracts and Audit Section under the supervision and responsibility of the relevant Head of section. 


Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic . Must be dynamic, have a sense of initiative and be able to fit into a multicultural environment.

The following will be considered an asset:

  1. University Degree
  2. Knowledge of Commission rules and procedures concerning Calls for Proposals, calls for tender, contracts and grants;
  3. Knowledge of other EU languages
  4. Knowledge of European Commission internal applications

Conditions offered

A contract of employment will be concluded for an open-ended period, subject to a successful completion of a 3 months probation period. Employment is expected to start as soon as possible. A competitive salary will be offered to the suitable candidate, based on the salary-grid for Local Agent Group II in Sudan, depending on number of years of relevant professional experience, plus transport allowance, provident fund and complementary sickness insurance.
