SAMA International Music Festival in Khartoum co funded by the EU to promote traditional and contemporary music in Sudan.

The SAMA International Music Festival is a project co-funded by the European Union that aims to promote both traditional and contemporary Sudanese music and traditions through highlighting the diverse spectrum of Sudan’s cultural landscape. The festival will create a platform for musicians and artists from within and outside Sudan, to explore, collaborate, exchange, and present their works, within a safe and supportive space. It will be held from 16 – 26 October in six venues in Khartoum.

The Concert program is as follows:

Using Arts in raising awareness about environment workshop

Date from 16th October – 17th October

Description: a hands-on experiences and theory about How to use arts in raising awareness about environment

Sound engineering & stage management workshop, in cooperation with Karmacol festival (Swiss initiative)

Date From 19th October – 22nd October

Description: hands on training for intermediate to professional level technicians who have been worked in this field, to improve their skills and technicality.

Dance workshops by Djoutala Seydi

Description: Seydi will teach dance from West Africa and at the same time learn from Sudanese their moves , to discover difference and similarities

Description: three day workshop to exchange different music and singing style , from central and west Africa beside afro jazz and world music .
