Travel to the EU

Useful information on travelling from Sudan to the EU, such as visas, travel restrictions and consulates, and for studying there.

Requirements

When applying for a Schengen Visa in order to travel to one or more of the Schengen Zone countries there are some requirements one has to establish prior to the application.

If you are planning to travel to more than one Schengen country it is best if you apply at the Embassy/ Consulate of the country you will be staying at the most, regarding the residing days. Once you are issued a multiple entry visa you are able to travel to all of the Schengen Zone countries for the time permitted by the visa.

When applying for the visa you should bear in mind that you have to personally hand in the required documents once you’ve made an appointment at the embassy/consulate in Khartoum.

It is always recommended to arrange the appointment at least 30 days prior to your departure since this is the estimated time needed for the bureaucratic process in the corresponding institution.

Every Schengen country shares more or less the same requirements for issuing a visa for the applying party. However there are slight differences here and there, depending on the consulate/embassy on the required documents additional to the:

  1. Main identification papers –valid passport.
  2. Current economic status – bank statement.
  3. Ties to your own country to prove you will return e.g. family, property, job, etc….
  4. Complete application form (attached)
