The European Union supports the people of Sudan in their efforts to strengthen peace, stability and prosperity in their country.
It is EU Policy to offer grants and funding to all sorts of different projects. For an overview and more information on application, please visit the European Commission website http://ec.europa.eu/grants/index_en.htm .
The EU also has a system of Calls for Proposal which give an opportunity for non-governmental organizations to access EU funding. The Calls for Proposal usually cover a wide range of thematic areas. They are published throughout the year. The Calls for Proposal are very competitive; therefore, it is not guaranteed that every proposal is chosen. Please refer periodically to our website and social media for new Calls for Proposals. We also regularly invite local Civil Society Organisations for information events to learn more about funding and how to apply.
The Delegation of the European Union publishes local positions available in Khartoum on this website and in selected publications. Please consult 'About us' > 'Vacancies' on this site to see if there are positions currently open and how to apply. Please check back regularly for updates. If you are a European National and interested in working full time for the European Union, please do consult the European Personnel Selection Office website at http://europa.eu/epso/index_en.htm
The European Delegation does not perform any consular functions. Therefore, the Delegation does not issue visas for travel to the European Union and cannot help you apply for such a visa. There is no single visa for travelling to all 28 Member States. However, since the Schengen Agreement visitors to the EU require only one visa for 24 of the 28 Member States (Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden, as well as the non-EU countries Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland). To learn more about the 'Schengen Visa' please visit http://www.eurovisa.info/ .
Keep in mind that the Embassy of the country where you plan to enter into the EU must issue your Schengen visa. For example, you need to talk to the consular section of the Spanish Embassy in Khartoum when your flight goes to Madrid. Only 9 EU countries have embassies in Khartoum but some are responsible for other countries as well. You find the contacts in our 'Travel to the EU' section on this page.
There are many databases with hundreds of scholarships Sudanese can apply for. For more information, please consult the Embassy of the Member State of your choice, and/or with the academic institution directly.
