Eco Mobility Network of Local Sustainability Alliance Korea in partnership with EU-Korea Climate Action, ICLEI, and supported by LX Korea Land Information Agency, organised a two-day conference on 16-17 November 2020 in Jeonju City, Korea.
EU Ambassador to Korea Maria Castilo-Fernandez said in her opening remarks, “The European Green Deal seeks to reduce transport-related greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2050. Meeting this target will require a fundamental transformation such as increasing the uptake of zero-emission vehicle.”
Hosted by Korea Climate Environment Network, National Assembly Member Seong-ju Kim and the EU Delegation to Republic of Korea, the live-streamed event provided an opportunity for participants to share and learn various policies and programmes on low carbon and sustainable mobility at local level. The event also shared outcomes and achievements of the second year of 'Bike to Work Challenge' and facilitated further discussion on the wider cooperation between Korea and European cities to scale up sustainable and low-carbon urban mobility.
