SEOUL, 12 May 2026 – The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, through its EU-Korea Green Partnership Programme (GPP), and the EU Business Hub Programme will host the "EU-Korea Clean Energy Technology Forum". The forum is organised in parallel with ENVEX 2026, where a business mission of approximately forty EU companies involved in green industry is participating.
Clean energy technologies are essential to achieving net-zero while ensuring a secure and resilient energy system. Sustainable, clean energy transition is increasingly recognised as strategic drivers of industrial competitiveness and innovation, acting as catalysts for market leadership and resilient energy systems in addressing the pressing global climate challenges.
Against this backdrop, the European Union (EU) launched the Clean Industrial Deal in February 2025 to outline concrete actions to turn decarbonisation into a diver of growth, with a focus on supporting energy-intensive industries to decarbonise and boosting clean-tech sectors to foster future competitiveness and sustainable transformation of industries.
This forum will convene high-level officials and experts from the EU and the Republic of Korea, including Director-General Kerstin Jorna for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (GROW), to discuss green industrial and energy transformation. The forum will provide an overview of policy frameworks including the Net-Zero Industry Act and Korea’s Green Transformation (K-GX) Strategy, while highlighting international cooperation in clean technology.
Key sessions will include high-level round table discussion on collaboration opportunities, followed by presentations from the private sector showcasing industry trends and a panel discussion on practical steps for a successful green energy transformation.
