Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea
The EU and Korea are strongly committed to implementing the 2015 Paris Agreement and delivering on their respective domestic commitments under the Agreement. The purpose of this project is to strengthen networking, dialogue and cooperation among Korean stakeholders and between Korea and the EU to enhance climate action at the non-state actors’ level.
EU helps the Republic of Korea pave the way for cutting carbon emissions in Asia. For the Republic of Korea to meet its emission-reduction target of 37 % by 2030, East Asia’s first nationwide emissions trading system (ETS) established in 2015 must be implemented and operated effectively by the Korean authorities.
The EU Gateway Programme is an initiative funded by the EU that helps companies from the 28 EU countries to establish long-lasting business partnerships in Korea.
