The EU Gateway to Korea Green Energy Technologies Exhibition was held at the Seoul COEX InterContinental Hotel’s Harmony Ballroom on 22–23 January 2019. 43 companies from the 15 EU member states attended the event, where they exhibited products and technologies in green energy sectors including solar energy, wind power, hydro/tidal power, biomass, energy efficiency, and energy conservation.

Products and technologies featured included a turnkey solution for hydroelectric power plants, software for weather and solar electricity simulations, and LIDAR technologies for the precise measurement of wind from altitude.

Other solutions include thermal energy storage that provides non-carbon energy at lower cost than fossil fuel, a PEM fuel cell system that uses hydrogen and air to generate clean DC electricity, and technology that reduces energy loss by removing VOC toxins and collecting gasoline vapour during the transfer of fuel.

The exhibition also featured biomass products and technologies that recycle waste for use as a heating sources. They include a brazier boiler that generates energy using industrial waste while maintaining high calorific power, and a heat pump-based solution that heats/cools buildings using wastewater as an energy source.

The EU Green Energy Technologies Exhibition is part of the EU Gateway to Korea, which is funded and managed by the European Union to support long-term business cooperation between European and Korean companies.
