The six winning journalists of the EU Climate Change Journalist Award, a project funded by the European Union, were awarded with study tour of the EU institutions in Brussels, on 26 September at the EU Delegation to Korea. The award is part of the “EU Climate Change Outreach Project in Korea”– an EU initiative designed to help raise public awareness in the Republic of Korea about the dire impact of climate change, industrialisation and globalisation on our daily lives.
The winning journalists will participate in a one-week study visit to Brussels. During the study visit, the six winners will meet the key EU experts and institutions in the climate change field, and have a chance to visit specific projects. Following the EU visit, each journalist will publish at least one climate-change related article with reference to the EU within four weeks upon their return to the Republic of Korea.
