Call for proposals: Improving socioeconomic rights of vulnerable groups in South
Africa


The European Union has launched a call for proposals under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR). The instrument is designed to support civil society organisations (CSO) to become an effective force for political reform and defence of human rights. Grants requested under this call must fall between EUR 400 000 and EUR 800 000.

Project objectives
The call seeks to support projects with the following objectives:

  • Support CSO working with vulnerable groups, at risk of workplace or labour related discrimination and/or poor labour conditions within the formal or the informal sector
  • Support CSO working on Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance

The deadline for submission of concept notes is 7 May 2019 at 16:00 (Brussels date and time).

Information sessions
Information sessions for those organisations interested in submitting a proposal will be held on 10 April in Johannesburg and on 11 April in Cape Town.
