Study in Europe 2025: Pictorial Highlights

The event highlighted the vitality of academic exchanges between Singapore and Europe.

Twenty countries participated, presenting a wide range of higher education options offered across their universities, and sharing resources on application processes, student life, courses in English and bond-free scholarships.

Says Artis Bertulis, European Union Ambassador-designate to Singapore: “Our Study in Europe fair is among the most well-established education events in Singapore and in the region. With the strong participation and support of our EU Member States and other European countries, we presented the range of higher education opportunities available across the continent in a Team Europe spirit. Europe is a strong, enduring and reliable partner also in education. The fair showcased the 3Cs in action: contribution, collaboration, cooperation.”

Representatives from European universities, research institutions, diplomatic missions of EU member states in Singapore plus Norway joined the EU Delegation on-site. European Union-funded initiatives were represented, like EURAXESS ASEAN and the EIT Digital Master School of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology, a successful collaboration between 15 European universities, focused on tech education.

Europe provides ample opportunities for academic mobility and research. Visitors learnt more about the different Erasmus+ initiatives for higher education cooperation, including the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters. They also discovered pathways to pursue a PhD in Europe through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks and about the EU’s flagship programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe.

The setting of Study in Europe 2025 is a nod and testament to the richness and diversity of Europe in all its forms. Chijmes Hall has significant European connections, as its architecture features 30,000 pieces of Belgian stained glass imported from Bruges and it was designed by French priest Father Charles Benedict Nain. Today, Chijmes is a cultural landmark that has been accorded Singapore’s National Monument status.  

It provided a particularly fitting backdrop to celebrate the diversity of European cultures, providing a window into what education and travel in Europe holds for students. Beyond academia, living in Europe offers opportunities for cultural enrichment through art, music, history, architecture and cuisine.

The physical fair is complemented by a comprehensive digital platform: studyineurope.com.sg that has had 19,000 visitors to date.
