The European Union Film Festival (EUFF), Singapore’s longest running foreign film festival, returns for its 28th edition.

Known for featuring the best of contemporary European cinema, the 28th EUFF will run from 10 to 20 May 2018. For the second year, all film screenings will take place at the iconic National Gallery Singapore.

The 28th edition of EUFF presents over 20 films, reflecting the diversity of perspectives, histories and cultures from across Europe.

Says H.E. Barbara Plinkert, European Union Ambassador to Singapore: "After many years of presenting the festival in various cinemas, we moved last year to National Gallery Singapore, reinforcing the excellent cultural collaboration and cooperation between Singapore and Europe. Our venue provides us the important cultural context to establish the EUFF as a significant cultural event in Singapore."

EUFF 2018 Opening Film
Opening the festival this year is the film Fly Away Home from Austria. Set in 1945 Vienna where the powder keg of war and the Russian occupation is seen through the innocent eyes of nine-year old Christine. The film is based on a novel by Christine Nöstlinger, the most popular children’s book author in Austria and Germany. Director Mirjam Unger will be present for the opening night screening.
