Delegation of the European Union to Singapore

ASEM Foreign Ministers Meeting, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, 20-21 November 2017

ASEM, the Asia-Europe Meeting, is a unique, informal platform for dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe, whose main purpose is to foster political dialogue, strengthen economic cooperation and promote people-to-people links/relations;. The ASEM cooperation mechanism focuses on the major challenges in a fast-changing world - such as connectivity, trade and investment, migration, climate change, but also broad security challenges such as counter-terrorism, maritime security and cyber issues. Bringing together 53 partners from across Europe and Asia, ASEM works through meetings and activities organised at different levels and work fields. This year the ASEM FMM13 will focus on peace, sustainability and partnership. A seminar for journalists and a special initiative for youth will also take place prior to FMM13.
