The EU Delegation maintains regular political dialogue with the authorities of Gabon on themes such as development, the environment, gender equality, migration, arms trade and the respect for human rights and democratic principles.
This dialogue includes members of the government and the country’s various institutions, as well as economic and social actors, including civil society organisations.
Gabon plays an important role in the process of maintaining peace in the Central African region. The country sits on the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and is a signatory to a cooperation agreement on security in the Gulf of Guinea.
