Driver in the Administration Section of the EU Delegation to Russia

The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 27 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organizations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.
The EU Delegation to the Russian Federation, Moscow, works in close coordination with the Embassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States. We are a fully-fledged diplomatic mission and represent the European Union in dealings with the Russian government in areas that are part of the EU’s remit.
We offer
The post of a Driver (Local Agent Group 5) in the Delegation’s Administration Section.
The current team consists of 11 people and there are occasional atypical working hours.
Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed driver/courier duties. The successful candidate will serve under the supervision and responsibility of the Head of the Administration Section.
Following main tasks and duties are currently required:
- Driving the Delegation staff and guests using the Delegation passenger cars, including minivans;
- Delivering correspondence, mail and other small items;
- Car maintenance (filling up tank, visiting garage etc.);
- Running small errands around town;
- Occasional business trips possible.
The base salary will depend on relevant and verified employment experience, typically starting from 80,165 RUB/month, payable in 13 monthly instalments a year. There is a competitive benefits package, subject to certain conditions, including personal leave days and public holidays, health insurances and a retirement savings plan.
The expected start date will be 1 November 2024.
Minimum requirements / eligibility criteria
- Driver’s licence class B;
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant capacity;
- Ability to communicate in English;
- Solid knowledge of Moscow roads and traffic;
- Right to residence and work in the Russian Federation;
- Medical fitness to carry out the tasks assigned;
- Responsible, pro-active, honest and discrete, ability to work in a team and under pressure.
Assets / selection criteria
- Profound experience/safety record;
- Experience in an international organization or embassy is an asset;
- Good command of written and oral English. Knowledge of other European Union languages is an asset;
- Driver’s licence type C/D/E is an asset.

The process
After the deadline for applications, the eligible applications will be evaluated by the selection committee.
Depending on the number of applications received, successive phases of Selection may include shortlisting of candidates based assessment of the information provided in the cover letter, CV; practical testing and interviews. The best candidates will be invited to the final interview.
