Woman journalists are invited to join the “Molotok” management academy and compete for 10,000 euro grants

30.07.2020

A call for applications for the “Molotok” media management academy, implemented in the framework of the EU-funded project, is now open. The winners will get a grant of 10,000 euro.

Journalism education in Russia is accessible for everyone, however more women than men enroll in journalism schools. Despite that imbalance the leading positions in media organisations are mostly occupied by men. Many women journalists lack management skills, confidence, time and educational opportunities to manage a media outlet or to launch a media start-up.

In order to address this issue an interregional Internet journal «7x7» is launching a media management academy entitled “Molotok” for women from different regions of Russia. The project is implemented in the framework of the EU-funded project “We Act” (Women Empowerment Action in Entrepreneurship and Media).  During a 5-months training course the selected participants will have a chance to create and further develop their gender-sensitive media projects. The five best projects will receive a grant of 10,000 euro and mentoring support to help to implement their action.

A free of cost training course will include 2 offline meetings (in October 2020 and in February 2021) and 10 webinars. 20 participants will be selected through a competitive selection process.

Please send your applications until 28 August 2020
