With the launch of the EU Green Deal by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in 2019, the EU has embarked on an ambitious goal of becoming climate-neutral continent by 2050. Meanwhile, the unprecedented health crisis has lead governments and institutions to consider drastic responses to address major economic and social impacts. Adjusting to this situation, the EU is setting up a recovery plan that will incorporate the objectives of the European Green Deal.
The EU and Russia are neighbours and major trading partners: at this challenging socio-economic conjunction EU and Russian stakeholders should interact on the path towards a lower carbon economy.
