The European Commission launches a new Call for Proposal for Russia in the framework of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR).

The global objective of the call is to promote and protect the freedom of expression in Russia as a corner stone of healthy democracy and well-informed and pluralistic society.

The specific objective of this call for proposals is to provide support to Media Literacy initiatives to allow Russian citizens (with the particular focus on youth) to access the media, to have a critical understanding of the media and to be a responsible consumer of the media in order in order to play a more active role in the life of the society.

The overall budget of the Call is EUR 3.200.000.

This is an open call for proposals meaning that applicants should provide concept notes and full applications at the same time.

The EU grant can cover up to 95 % of the total eligible costs of the action. In exceptional cases the EU can cover the entire eligible cost of the action. The justification of the full financing to be made by the applicant will be examined during the evaluation procedure.

Deadline for submission of the applications: 31 July 2020 at 17:00 (Brussels time)
